Today we’ve got the fabulous Katie, our Busy Mummy blogger, talking about her progression so far in the Hello New You campaign.
Dear diary……
Do you know what? I think there has been a breakthrough in my brain. I’m no longer looking at food as “that will make me fat” and “that isn’t so bad”. I’m looking at it like I should be: as in, that’s healthy, that’s not so healthy but I can eat it in moderation. I think that’s what you would call sensible!
I don’t look any different yet: perhaps my legs are more toned from all the walking I’m doing (6 hours round Disney on Monday, that was a good workout!) but I feel different, and that’s probably the best place to start!
I’m sure I’m not the only woman who is forever planning a diet, always starting a new one & waiting for the effects to kick in after 24 hours (patience isn’t my strong point) but I’m giving myself a bit of a break, I’m not going to lose weight in a week, and I’m certainly not going to change an adult lifetime of dieting overnight.
I can’t say I love the shakes, but they have fulfilled their purpose for me; breakfast is now an important meal because when I wake up, I’m hungry! That’s a new one, so I’m running with it and will be carrying it on once this trial has stopped, along with all the other bits of information I’ve learnt.
My apps are showing me I have cut down on the carbs and increased the protein, and I’m looking forward to getting outside and walking instead of driving. To be honest it’s probably easier with a buggy and toddler anyway, rather than in and out of a car several times a day, and I’m certainly looking forward to summer so we can stay out all day without freezing our backsides off.
I feel really good following this plan: I’m really getting my health into gear, and I’ve even quit smoking! A major point for me was knowing that by following this plan, I won’t gain weight now I’ve quit, so it’s a win win for me.
Maxitone, you rock.
